In the summer of a distant adolescence, one day when the wind was whispering promises of love through the foliage of the trees, my grandmother confided a secret to me: “Whenever you meet love,” she said in a soft voice, “remember that not everyone has known its caress. It is a precious gift that should never be taken for granted.” I, young and restless, laughed; she was not ready to discover that truth.
